In network marketing regardless of what company you are with the ONLY way to success is by duplication. Without duplication you cannot grow a profitable downline and earn consistent residual income each and every month.
Duplication is where you find a business builder and train them to do something similar to what you are doing to achieve the same results. Please note carefully, I did not say train them to do what you are doing to be successful, but whatever it takes to reach the same results or the same goal. No two people are alike and trying to clone yourself is the biggest mistake you can make in trying to achieve duplication in your business. So put away the Star-Trek universal replicator HOW-TO Guide! You want business leaders not clones, and you want them to know their goals and work 5 to 10 hours a week to achieve them.
Say for instance your compensation plan requires you to build 20 distributors wide on your first level so that you always have enough people to work with and that it pays enough to make the downline profitable. My opportunity does require 20 so I will use that example in this article. Now my company would say that all I have to do is find 5, that they find their 5 that again those find another 5. But in reality people quit, people goals change, some people move away and I have even had some distributors pass away. So after looking at this problem for over a decade, I have picked 20, because it is more than enough to ensure continue success. 5 may be the official company line, but 20 working distributors is way more than enough. When it comes to achieving duplication over achieving is always better, safer and a whole lot more profitable. Over achieving is also more stable on a month to month basis.
Having the more than enough attitude is better than not enough. So I use 20 as my goal. But whatever number you pick the process is the same as long as you always have more than enough people to work with.
Keeping in mind that dreamers will get in to your opportunity, work hard and duplicate, and complainers do nothing and thus get nothing you have to find the dreamers in your downline. Once you find a person that gets it, and understands that they can be something other than their current situation dictates you have to teach them three things. These three points will be more than enough and they will drive duplication and growth indefinitely.
- Figure out what you want and why you want it, and then make sure that you are sure you really do want it.
- Decide what you are willing to give up too get it.
- Allocate 5 to 10 hours a week to work and set a date to achieve the goal.
Once you have done this, you can explain that with your company, the compensation plan rewards a balance between retail sales and new distributor sponsoring growth. The more people you sponsor the more money you get paid. But you will get paid a whole lot more if each of these new distributors sells a bit of product to some retail customers each month. If you can sponsor 5 people and teach them to find, service and keep 10 active customers, then by simply doing the same work 4 more times you can sponsor 20. Then when people quit, or move on then you simply do the work again and sponsor a replacement. If everybody’s goal is to find 20 people and teach them to find 20 and sell each month to 10 customers you are done. Duplication will just happen.
Duplication is very simple if people have a work schedule of 5 to 10 hours a week, goal and a action plan. Maybe you don’t need 20 people or maybe your experience is that you need 30, it does not matter if people are reaching for that goal they set themselves and never forget to also find and keep 10 customers.
You might have thought duplication in Network Marketing is impossible. Well it is not and it is what drives the incredible growth that you have heard about and can experience yourself.
Aside from duplication, somebody asked how many presentations or people do they need to talk with to be successful. I would guess and this is only my opinion, that for most people need to talk with 10 people a month or sponsor 2 new distributors in that month. Continually working, never stopping and focusing on that simple monthly goal of talking to 10 people or sponsoring 2 new distributors will be more than enough to trigger raging unstoppable success.
