With the start of each new year many people partake in the traditional ritual of setting resolutions and goals to be achieved.
Where you one of them in January? Are you sticking to your goals for this new year? It been a couple of months now and maybe it is time to ask where you are and how you got there if you actually moved much from January.
Whether you are resolved to land a new pin level or promotion, increase your sales quota or to live a healthier lifestyle the reality that you may be left with are empty promises unless you have a plan to move forward. Network Marketing is not much different, you need a plan and the plan needs to be executed. Bit by bit, one step at a time but with small incremental progress each and every day.
Having a well defined plan is absolutely essential in order to reach your goals. It’s like have a secret treasure map that actually leads to real treasure.
But even before you start to figure out the treasure map you should make sure you know why you are willing to risk your time and energy to focus on you following it. Knowing why you are doing something is one of the most powerful motivators. Knowing why will help you push through the walls and make the necessary choices to ensure success.
Treasure maps always have scary dragons and alligator infested swaps otherwise they would not a treasure maps would they. So do Network Marketing business plans. Captain Cook is long gone but there are new pirates that are ready and quite willing to take you prisoner on their rat infested ships in order to delay or capsize your success.
When it comes to Network Marketing and making plans you should give some thought to where you want to be in one year from now. Increased sales? Increased referrals? Increased sponsorship? Once you have done that you should:
- Write your goals down. This makes them real.
- Breakdown the goals in measureable steps so you can take small actions that add to big changes over time.
- Create a schedule that you can reasonable afford both financially and time wise. Do not forget your family you cannot leave them behind.
- Identify the obstacles you face and come up with ways to go around them.
Trying to fix them is not always time efficient, besides once you reach you goal they are probably not a big deal anymore anyway.
Remember the treasure map? No adventurer tries to fix the problem they face they just avoid them altogether. This is wise advice in the Network Marketing business. Avoid problems by going around them. I am not saying ignore them, but by going around them they are now behind you and probably will not affect you much.
Nobody talks to alligators with empty bellies and sharp teeth asking them to please not eat you for lunch. Neither do they try to reason with fire breathing dragons guarding their caves. Avoid problems by going around them. You will find that a much more successfully strategy then trying to climb over them or fix this.
Your plan is a plan for a change. So you need to overcome the fear of change otherwise you simply will never change. Put the negative stories, fearful memories and stereotypes behind you. Use your avoidance strategy to get around them and ignore them for a while. After you sponsor a new distributor believe me you won’t have time to remember them anyway. Increase your weekly sales by 100% and you will have no time to run them over and over in your head!
Success has a way of breeding more success. Focus on the small steps you have identified and eventually you will end up completing your goal. Reach enough goals and you will need a new treasure map.
Network Marketing is not complicated. Finding new prospects and customers is relatively easy considering most of us live in cities of at least half a million people. The real problem that people face is talking to one person each day. Just one at a time and eventually you will have talked to 7 new people each week.
